2024 Hometown Christmas Village and Skating Rink

Come experience the joy and wonder of small-town Christmas the way it used to be! See our beautiful Christmas displays in the Kernersville Museum Historic Village, including festive trees adopted and decorated by local businesses and families. Create memories as you enjoy family-friendly skating at the winter rink located in the Village. Details below!

COME SKATING WITH US! Click here for dates and times of winter rink skating sessions. The cost is only $5 per 30-minute session, including skate rental. This is a synthetic surface rink that skates just like ice -- but isn't as cold! Tickets are available for purchase on site and are CASH ONLY. Local Scout troop members are managing operations at the rink.

 

All skaters are required to sign a liability waiver before they are allowed on the ice. NO EXCEPTIONS. Skaters younger than 18 years of age are required to have a parent or legal guardian sign and submit a waiver on their behalf.

ADD YOUR WISH to the Historic Village “Wish Tree.” The 2024 Wish Tree is located in the center of the Historic Village. Free wish tree ornaments for adding your wish are available during skating sessions. Or, make and add your own ornament to hang on the Wish Tree. Add this to your family’s holiday tradition and enjoy reading and viewing our community’s wishes.

VISIT THE "CHRISTMAS CABIN", open during skating sessions as part of the holiday decorated Historic Village. Local community members Deb Fletcher and Pam Holloway are putting their own Christmas touch to the restored Weaning Cabin.

TAKE IN THE "SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS" DECORATED TREES located around the Museum, at Founders Park and at Harmon Park by the gazebo.

TOUR THE HISTORIC DEPOT and museum campus during Kernersville's Blooms to Bells holiday celebration on December 7th from 4:00-8:00pm. Enjoy festive holiday music at the Depot from the Kerwin Baptist Handbell Choir (6:00-8:00pm) and pictures with Santa from 4:00-6:00pm. A Holiday Trolley will run throughout the town, stopping at the Depot, Museum Village, Kernersville Chamber of Commerce for the tree lighting, and Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden.
