The Kernersville Museum offers several different volunteer opportunities to suite everyone's needs and talents. Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community while also giving yourself a chance to learn more about Kernersville history! Volunteer hours at the Kernersville Museum can also count towards required volunteer time for local students. Below are some of the volunteer opportunities available.
As a guest greeter, you will be the friendly, smiling face that people see when they first enter the Museum or Train Depot. You will be trained to recognize and explain our exhibits and be available to answer any questions guests may have.
We are always looking for folks who can scan articles for use in our digital archives, help with bulk mailings, make copies, file, etc
We have several committees where you could put your planning and organizing skills to use! Exhibits, Collections, Oral Histories, Marketing & Resource Development are always looking for volunteers.
As a tour guide you will get a chance to lead various groups, from school groups, to private groups, around the Museum Campus. Tour guides will be trained to give tours of the Kernersville Museum, Tobacco Barn, a historic walking tour of North Main Street, and the Historic Train Depot.
Help maintain our flower beds, general facilities or grounds keeping help.
